工事の段階から顔を出し、オープン日から8日連続でこけら落としコンサートを決行。
その舞台裏が『Where I’m From：JAY Z Barclays Center Documentary』というタイトルでYoutubeで公開された。
この動画はJAY Zの郷土愛と仕事の風景、そしてバークレイズ・センターがオープンするまでを撮影したものだが、意外な角度からこの動画が話題になった。
JAY Zが地下鉄に乗ってバークレイズ・センターでのコンサートに向かうシーン(動画19:30あたり)で、JAY Zと隣に座ったおばあちゃんの会話が「ほっこりする。」と話題になっている。
